Platanos PARKING Station short‐listed for the EPA Award 2015 of Best New Car Park in Europe
Athens, March 10, 2015: Platanos PARKING, the new underground car park of GEK TERNA Group, in Kifisia, Athens, Greece, was short‐listed among the three best car parking stations in Europe under the category of “New Car Park” in the context of the “European Parking Awards”, organized by the European Parking Association.
The winner will be announced at the Association’s congress on 23 September 2015 in Berlin, Germany. 
Platanos PARKING commenced operations in September 2014 with the objective to offer a permanent solution to the long‐standing problem of car parking in the area of Kifisia.
The multi‐storey car park has a capacity of 617 parking slots and is a structure of high technology and aesthetics, serving the inhabitants, visitors, and those who work in the city, as well as those commuters who use the Electric Railway, by offering special discounts on the parking fees.
The Underground Car Park operates via a self‐service system, whereas there are special parking slots for persons with reduced mobility. Furthermore, the facilities include a waiting area for co‐passengers, an EV charging station (Battery charging system for electric cars), special parking spaces for long vehicles and motorcycles, and a car‐wash facility.
With a total capacity of 5,200 parking slots, GEK TERNA Group is one of the largest administrators of car parks in Greece.
